This site is dedicated to the memory of Stephanie Mcdonald.

Born march 1993 past away November 2011 aged 18. Was a loving and caring sister to two older brothers a sister in law a 1 year old nephew and to her mom, dad, family and friends. She had flu like symptoms for around 24hrs. The doctors said it was pointless to take her to the hospital because she wasn't showing any symptoms of the disease. Her heart failed in the early hours of the morning one day before her oldest brothers wedding day. She was so excited to be a major part in the ceremony. She slipped into a coma. The paramedics were there within minutes of being called and the staff at royal preston hospital were great throughout the entire ordeal. They never gave up and answered every question honestly and without hesitation. She was in a coma for 2 days before all the tests were completed which confirmed meningitis. Because of the timing with the wedding date the doctor allowed her to stay on life support until the day after. The wedding was rescheduled. And in the end I did get married 4 months later. The doctors said that her body was in such good condition that she could donate if we wee ok with it. She ended up donating and saving 3 people's lives that day. One of which was a very young child. All transplants were successful and a year later they are still doing well. I love you Steph you are always in my heart.
